I love Marilyn Manson. They are one of my favorite bands. But let's face it. his new album, "Eat Me, Drink Me", though a good album, didn't exactly fuel the statement that "Marilyn Manson is back!" nor did the the first leg of his "Rape of the World" tour with Slayer didn't exactly blow people away.
But with the return of long-time friend, bassist and co-songwriter Twiggy Ramirez, Marilyn Manson seems to have been rejuvenated with a vigor not seen since as long ago as 2001. On this second run of the "Rape of the World" tour, besides adding Ramirez to the lineup and removing Tim Skold, the live setlist features fan-favorite songs that haven't been played live in years, such as "Coma White" (with "Coma Black" outro), "Rock 'n' Roll Nigger", "Little Horn", "Cruci-Fiction in Space" and "1996".
Not only that, but with the exception of the first few dates where Mr. Manson had a bit of laryngitis, Manson sounds, looks and performs better than he has in years. With all this reinvigoration, let's hope that the new album (with Twiggy!) sounds as good as the whole band does live right now.
